Is the Huracan EVO just a facelifted Huracan? Let’s find out more, the EVO is a whole lot more design wise, technology wise etc, it’s a complete overhaul of the base Huracan platform. The engine is a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 taken from the Lamborghini Performante, which means you get the same 631hp & 629 lbs of torque. 0-100km/h comes very quickly at 2.9 seconds with a top speed of over 322 km/h. The stopping power of the carbon ceramic brakes inspires confidence on road and track. However, the brake feel is a bit softer than that of the Performante, so it would take some adjustment if you stepped out of the Performante into the EVO.

So, I hear you asking, “what is the difference between the Performante and the EVO”, the EVO is more of a road car with fixed aero and the Performante is track focused with active aero & a big rear wing. The EVO has a fixed rear wing and large side air vents to help keep in planted. The Huracan EVO also has borrowed some DNA from its big brother the Aventador, this being the rear steering capabilities & its chassis technology. This now gives the EVO all the goodies from Lamborghini. But these upgrades don’t stop there, inside the cockpit you get an all new LDVI system that controls the torque vectoring, traction control system, adaptive suspension system, steering system, all-wheel drive and all wheel steering. The LDVI system continually monitors and adapts to your driving style to give you the best experience possible. Another nice addition to the interior is the central touch screen positioned quite low on the transmission tunnel.

So, how does the road focused EVO go on the track? The previous dynamic steering on the Huracan was one of its weakest points, but on the new EVO with its four-wheel steering it’s a massive improvement. The all new magnetic suspension also helps with handling, keeping it flatter through the corners and under braking. The body with its new aero generates seven times more downforce than the previous Huracan. The LDVI system helps you on the track holding gears when needed and learning your needs. It helps you drive to your best capabilities and this is the entry level Lamborghini.

For me the Lamborghini Countach was my childhood poster car, will the Huracan EVO be the kids of today’s poster car?
